Pain points and teaming

What are your areas of contention within your business? What can Total Technical Solutions assist you with? Let me explain a little about my personal experiences and discuss a little about the vision forward that I see with solving pain points and teaming for the opportunity.

“Turnkey” solution

One area of specialty that I have learned to excel at is the usage of multiple resources to get to an end “turn-key” solution. Having worked in Afghanistan for almost three years as the Plans and Projects SME I was able to see how MILCONS, Programs of record, contracts and contracting companies presented and deployed their systems. I was also the representative for the CJ6 at the JFUB (Joint Facility Utilization Board) which was chaired by a one-star general.

During this time I saw so many programs that were underutilized because of the stove-piped verticals of each program, ARC GIS, PTDS, PGSS, PMP2E, PANTHR, GBS, TIGR and more that could have been utilized if there would have been a separate entity that could pull resources from each project, and working with the Govt and MIL officials on the ground, re-deploy for cross-utilization on the battlefield.

This was the SROC-A which allowed for items to be used prior to entering the DRMO process and be re-utilized as needed (with a govt official signature). So IT equipment, vehicles, towers and more could be re-used for organizations purposes. Out of a 10 million dollar equipment request, my team and I were able to recover 2.2 million dollars in equipment to be used across the area of operations. This process was not flawless and took much work to get our basic requirements understood, captured and eventually acted upon.

NTOP – Network Transition and Optimization Planning

NTOP – Network Transition and Optimization Planning – which was reported up to the SECDEF and included all major COMMS-I organizations, was a primary purpose of mine at the JNCC-A. I worked with many capable and highly intelligent people that were extremely good at their trade, but there were so many different approaches and fingers in the pie, that my first task was to get the organizations into a cookie-cutter capability that would allow an easy approach to reporting delivery. Once this was established then there had to be the “selling” of the NTOP to all necessary parties, even though it was a military environment some organizations did not fall under our commands direct control. There was push back from some, due to additional reporting that was needed, but this was eventually overcome by a team, esprit de corps, a mentality that was developed and fostered to get the primary reporting mission done. The scope and format changed literally bi-weekly, but by capturing the command (management) need and understanding the requirement was what was needed to eventually pull it all together.

The SROC-A and the NTOP were all accomplished in a four-month window, with my other 2.5 years being spent at the division supporting many of the projects shown on our “past performance” page. Imagine what could be accomplished for your project or company.

Total Technical Solutions

I mention all this because I started a company called Total Technical Solutions, Inc and we are hoping to grow in the realm of working through what I call “the fog of communications”. A lot of times individual commanders on the ground, or company leadership, do not have the resources to go after needed equipment and end up utilizing new funds or resources when everything they need is on the ground already. IF there is a new program that is coming out it could benefit from proper relationships and a 360-degree knowledge of their AOR, this is where we can assist. There is too often a “blinders on” view of the world and working “out of the box” is no longer sufficient, there needs to be a “sphere” approach to thinking and planning.

This includes keeping costs down and being able to pre-position resources prior to their actual time of need. Total Technical Solutions offers training, to get the resources trained and educated on various IT topics, prior to their actually needing to utilize those skills. Logistics planning to ensure your materials are on the ground or delivered on-site to be utilized. Procurement understanding and resources to ensure that the needed parts are available. As well as the infrastructure and support understanding to ensure your getting what is needed and not a technician’s “wish list”.

Pain Points and Teaming

Does it seem like we try to cover too many bases? Well to someone that may not understand the complete need, this could appear to be so, but for us its second nature (read the recommendations under my profile). Our approach is bottom-up and this is fostered by key personnel having the right experiences for the responsibilities that they hold.

Give us an opportunity to take your project or company to the next level, let us help you to understand what you may not even know you don’t know and at the same time allow us to build your future…today.
