TTS Training Academy

Purpose

This policy establishes the minimum passing standard, remediation process, and certificate eligibility rules for all TTS Training Academy courses.

Scope

This policy applies to every TTS Training Academy course, certificate program, live virtual class, recorded course, workshop, and academy bundle unless a stricter written course requirement applies.

Minimum Passing Standard

Students must earn a final assessment score of 80% or higher to pass a course when a graded assessment is used.

Students must also complete required attendance, participation, workbook activities, practical exercises, and any required capstone or scenario-based assignments.

Certificate Eligibility

A certificate of completion may be issued only after all required items are complete.

Certificate approval requires:

  • Attendance or participation verified.
  • Required coursework completed.
  • Final assessment score of 80% or higher, when applicable.
  • Practical exercises completed, when applicable.
  • Remediation completed and approved, when required.
  • Instructor or academy administrator approval recorded.

Critical Safety and Compliance Failures

A student may be required to complete remediation even if the numeric score is 80% or higher when the student demonstrates a serious misunderstanding in a high-risk area.

Examples include:

  • Identity screening errors.
  • Failure to evaluate willingness or awareness.
  • Providing unauthorized legal advice.
  • Mishandling fraud indicators.
  • Inaccurate certificate or journal practices.
  • Remote online notarization authorization errors.
  • Improper apostille guarantees or incorrect document routing.
  • Unsafe conduct in hospital, senior facility, or vulnerable-person scenarios.

Remediation Process

When remediation is required, the instructor or academy administrator will review missed items or performance concerns with the student.

The student may be assigned one or more remediation steps:

  • Corrected assessment review.
  • Short written response.
  • Scenario correction.
  • Workbook completion.
  • Practical demonstration.
  • Retake of the assessment or a focused assessment section.

Certificate issuance is withheld until remediation is completed and approved.

Retake Standard

If a student does not achieve 80% on the first attempt, the student may retake the assessment after review and remediation.

A passing retake score must be recorded before certificate approval.

Website and LMS Implementation

When the academy website or LMS is configured, each graded course should be set to require a minimum passing score of 80% where the platform supports automated scoring.

The student-facing policy page should state that certificates are issued only after completion requirements are satisfied.

Administrative Review

This policy should be reviewed before launch and whenever course structure, platform settings, state requirements, or certificate rules change.

Internal Note

This policy is an operational training standard. It should not be presented as legal advice or as a substitute for state-specific notary law, agency rules, platform requirements, or legal guidance.
